Who Is Eve?

If you've ever met Eve, or have heard stories about her, you know she's a force to be reckoned with.

Making her way bravely into CHEO, Penguin in hand... and a reminder that it won't always be so snowy!

In summer 2018, Eve started complaining about a weird, but probably not concerning, lump in her abdomen. Ultrasound revealed that, actually, it WAS concerning, and further tests at CHEO confirmed that Eve has neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. Aggressive treatment started within a couple of weeks.

Eve has the type of neuroblastoma that requires the most aggressive kind of treatment, lasting about 18 months. She's been through a variety of treatments in Ottawa and Montreal (including chemo, surgery, stem cell transplants, and more), and it's been really rough stuff.

Eve's family (Mum, Dad, and awesome older brother) have their hands full right now. Eve spends a significant amount of time in the hospital, and needs extensive care. Thank goodness her parents have been able to take leave from work to be where they need to be - focused on their family.

As you can imagine, this has been an extremely difficult time, with many stresses - including financial. Which is why a group of friends has gotten together for our Pub Quiz fundraiser - we hope to see you there!
